Gaza says that Israel is evacuating a major hospital in the Gaza Strip. Moving them is “impossible” because it is said that many patients are on life support and babies are in incubators. There are also an estimated 14,000 civilians sheltering in the hospital. The area around the hospital has been riddled with air strikes throughout the entire day.

Communication is returning to Gaza, according to its main telecommunications company. Israel claims that the Israel-Hamas war is in its second stage. Citizens have been warned in Northern Gaza that the area is now “a battlefield”, with an urgent call to move southwards if not already.

Intense and heavy bombing continues throughout the Gaza Strip.

Israel claims to have killed the head of Hamas’ paraglider operations on the day of the attack. Many explosions were seen as Israel carried out heavy airstrikes. The UN General Assembly has called for a humanitarian truce, with 120 different member states supporting a solution made by Jordan.

A Hamas spokesperson says that 50 hostages that have been taken by its fighters have been killed in Gaza. They claim that the fatalities were caused by the Israeli bombardment of the Strip. This number has yet to be verified by any reliable source as of yet.

Israel has already identified 224 people being held hostage in Gaza.

Many countries and other aid agencies are saying that Gaza needs fuel. Due to the shortage, hospitals and other government buildings have been shutting down. Some believe that to combat this, Hamas is storing fuel in tanks near the Gaza-Egypt border.

A flight carrying 21 tonnes of aid sent by the U.K. has landed in Egypt. These supplies include 76,800 wound care packs, 1,350 water filters, and 2,560 solar-powered lights. The aid comes as part of a £30m aid package for Gaza.

French President, Emanuel Macron, has proposed the anti-Islamic State coalition which is comprised of 86 countries to eliminate the threat of the Islamic State (IS). This could escalate the

conflict further. This comes after he met with the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu. He refused to elaborate on how the coalition, which Israel is not a part of, would participate in the conflict.

Macron has also been speaking with the official leader of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas. He was the first Western leader to do so since the conflict first started. However, Abbas has no authority over Gaza as the area has been ruled by Hamas since 2007.

Rwanda has sent aid to Palestine in the form of 16 tonnes of food. The donation was made “in support of the ongoing international rescue effort”, the government’s deputy, Alain Mukuralinda wrote. The donation was sent to the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) and has arrived in the Jordanian capital, Amman. It will shortly arrive in Palestine.

The US states that Israel has allowed aid to flow continually across Gaza via Egypt. The UN, when notified of 14 trucks that arrived today in Palestine, said that it gave Palestinians a “ray of hope”, though much more was needed to satisfy everyone.

Saturday, October 21, 2023, 11:15 P.M. PST

The Israeli military has said in a statement made by Daniel Hagari that Israel will increase strikes on northern Gaza. Israel is also suggesting anyone in this region move south immediately for their safety.

Today marks the first time aid has been let into Gaza from Egypt since the war started exactly two weeks ago.

The USS Carney, a guided missile destroyer, has intercepted drones and missiles fired from Houthi territory in Yemen. The Houthis are an Iran-aligned Shiite movement that has been fighting the officially recognized Yemen government. According to a Pentagon spokesperson, the missiles have been launched “potentially towards targets in Israel.” The attack included three land attack cruise missiles and several drones.

Brigadier General Patrick Ryder made a statement “Our defensive response was one that we would have taken for any similar threat in the region where we’re able to do so against our interest personnel and our partners.” This comes after several drones and rockets hit the US and allied nations’ bases in Iraq. The attack caused injuries to a “small number of troops.”

Joe Biden, the President of the US, has said in a speech on television that he will ask Congress for billions of dollars to support Israel and Ukraine. He has also told Israeli leaders to learn from the United States’ mistakes after 9/11, not to be “blinded by rage”.

An agreement has been made with Egypt to allow limited humanitarian aid into Gaza via the Rafah Crossing in the coming days.

A large explosion happened at a hospital in the Gaza Strip last night causing widespread fear and panic with almost 500 casualties. Though the cause was unknown, many people think this explosion was an act of terrorism. Israel immediately blamed the Hamas organization for this attack, but the Israel defense organization said it was most likely from a misfired Palestinian rocket. Many Arab countries have joined Hamas in blaming Israel for the rocket. The US refuses to believe this claim and supports Israel along with many others.

Tuesday, October 17, 2023, 9:20 A.M. PST

Due to the evacuation of northern Gaza about four days ago, waves of refugees are flooding into neighboring Egypt. King Abdullah II, King of Jordan, states on this matter, “No refugees in Jordan, no refugees in Egypt.”

Israel still insists that there is no humanitarian crisis in Gaza.

Monday, October 16, 2023, 9:30 A.M. PST

The number of hostages taken by the Hamas group has risen from 150 to 199. The deaths have risen from 1,900 to 2,700 in a span of just a few days. The US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, has touched on the topic, saying that “Israel has every right to defend itself” and that the US will support Israel through the conflict. Israel’s defense minister has stated, “This will be a long war, the price will be high, but we are going to win – for Israel, for the Jewish people, and for the values that both countries believe in”.

Sunday, October 15, 2023, 9:45 P.M. PST

The city of Khan Yunis, normally home to 400,000 people, has ballooned to over one million overnight due to the influx of people evacuating from northern Gaza. Resources were already scarce in the city and are now depleting tenfold. Things are falling apart in southern Gaza.

Many thousands of people may die in hospitals due to fuel running out in the Gaza Strip, which is predicted to happen in the next 24 hours. The UN claims that the Middle East is on “the verge of abyss” and is pleading with Israel to let aid into Gaza.

Saturday, October 14, 2023, 8:45 P.M. PST

A ground offensive into Gaza is expected, with Israel claiming to attack Hamas by “land, air, and sea.” They have not released any specific time of this offensive. This follows the warnings Israel gave yesterday requesting the residents of northern Gaza to flee southward. The WHO (World Health Organization) considers this a “death sentence” for hospital patients in Gaza.

1,300 people have died in Israel with another 2,200 casualties in Israel’s bombing campaign of Gaza, according to Palestinian officials.

Friday, October 13, 2023, 9:30 A.M. PST

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) calls for the immediate release of hostages. They have condemned Hamas’s actions of taking hostages and say that”our hearts go out” to the families of those with missing members. The ICRC warned that it would not be able to send in aid until there are pauses in fighting.

Northern Gaza’s residents – about 1,000,000 – have been asked to flee after Israel’s warning to move south by the next day. The Israeli military did admit that it would take more time for this massive populace to evacuate, but have blamed Hamas for spreading a message to ignore the call. The UN warns of horrible consequences for the people living there and is urging Israel to take back its order. A total blockade is being enforced, with food and water running out. They will only lift this seige if Hamas agrees to free over 150 hostages that they have kidnapped.

Thursday, October 12, 2023, 9:23 A.M. PST

According to French President Macron, there have been 17 French nationals have gone missing including 4 children. There have also been a total of 12 French citizens killed in the fighting.

There have also been verified images of a hospital that has been destroyed by Israeli bombardment. Gaza’s health ministry has stated that airstrikes have hit seven hospitals.

Thursday, October 12, 2023, 8:40 A.M. PST

A humanitarian crisis in Gaza is revealing itself as Israeli forces have placed the area under siege, allowing no food, water, or fuel into the city until hostages are released. About the current casualties, the health ministry in Gaza has confirmed that there have been 1,417 Palestinians have been killed during Israeli bombardments. These include 447 children and 248 women.  The number of people that have been killed in Israel has risen to about 1,300 with 150 people taken hostage.

Wednesday, October 11, 2023, 9:30 A.M. PST

On October 7, 2023, a Palestinian terrorist group known as Hamas carried out several coordinated attacks on the Gaza Strip. Many hostages were taken, and air strikes were carried out over the region. Over 1,200 people have died and another 2,900 have been severely injured. Unfortunately, these numbers are only going to grow as the days progress. As a result, Israel has officially declared war on the Hamas organization.

The spokesperson of Hamas’ Al-Qassam Brigades stated, “Hamas will start executing civilian hostages if Israel targets people in Gaza without warning.” This is a devastating blow to Israel and might even prevent Israel from trying to fight back against the terrorists. So, instead of trying to fight the Hamas group, Israel instead has taken defensive positions and has put the Gaza Strip under total siege. This war is beginning to escalate and it seems like this conflict might be the end of our short period of world peace.
