On May 20, 2024, after suffering from severe turbulence on a flight from London to Singapore, a British Man died, and several others were injured. The flight went smoothly until passing over Myanmar, where the airplane experienced severe turbulence. Some passengers say that anyone who didn’t have their seatbelt on was “launched into the ceiling.” many people suffered from injuries with some even having head wounds. In total, 30 people were taken to hospital, seven with critical injuries.
In total, there were 211 passengers and 18 crew members, they came from Australia, the UK, Singapore, New Zealand, and Malaysia. After the turbulence, the flight diverted to Bangkok, where injured passengers were hospitalized, including the British man’s wife. The British man is thought to have died of a heart attack.
