In France, many people have just been arrested after bomb threats were sent out to the public. The people behind the disruptions are mainly minors, according to authorities. The threats come after the stabbing of a teacher by a suspected jihadist.
The attacks have affected tourist destinations and the country’s infrastructure. Threats were sent to fifteen different regional airports on Friday causing the cancelation of 130 flights. Tourist sights were also targeted, including The Palace of Versailles, which closed for the fifth time last week following another threat. This affects the thousands of visitors that go to the palace each day. The Louvre has also been targeted resulting in thousands of visitors being evacuated.
Calling in a fake bomb threat in France comes with charges that include up to three years in prison and a €45,000 ($48,000) fine.
