An Australian ophthalmologist and biotech entrepreneur tells Brisbane Times that he can cure blindness with cell reception and a 3D printer. Cornea transportation is a common procedure to restore eyesight but it requires donors. In a interview he says that when taking a trip to Myanmar to teach training surgeons how to do a cornea transplant. He said he brought four donated corneas from the NSW Eye Bank. He said 1,000 people were waiting but he could only pick 4. His artificial conears are based on collagen. It creates a opaque tissue, so he had to make it see through. He says they are 3-4 years away from achieving their goal and making Australia the center of bioengineering on Earth.
