Seven of the eight border crossings between have already been shut down. The government closed the last of the crossings with the Raja-Jooseppi crossing, the northernmost crossing, last Tuesday. This comes after Helsinki accused the Russian Government of channeling migrants toward the Finnish border crossings.
Around 900 asylum seekers crossed the border last month.
The rail-freight line will still be open according to border guards. According to the border guards, asylum seekers will still be able to enter via plane.
