Stanford University is located in Stanford, California. The yearly tuition is $58,416. Stanford’s top 5 majors are Computer Science, Engineering, Biology, economics, Psychology, and Political Science. The acceptance rate for Stanford is 4% and half the applicants that are admitted to Stanford received an SAT score between 1,500 and 1,580 or an ACT score of 33 and 35. The application fee is $90. To get into Stanford you need to have a GPA between 3.9 and 4.0. You must have a high GPA and will most likely be graduating in the top tenth of your class to get into Standford. They have seven schools; Business, Doerr School of Sustainability, Education, Engineering, Humanities and Sciences, Law, and Medicine. Stanford offers freshman and sophomore seminars so they can give the underclassmen a chance to get know know the faculty in small classes from the moment they arrive. They also offer three-week academic excursions to sites around the world, Morocco, Brazil, and South Africa.

Elle Woods from the movie “Legally Blonde” went to Harvard though the actress Reese Witherspoon went to Stanford. A few others who went to Stanford are Elon Musk, John Steinbeck, and Sandra Day O’Connor who is the first female judge of the Supreme Court. Mae Jemison went to Stanford as well and has managed to triple the achievements. Mae Jemison is an engineer, astronaut, and medical doctor. Mae graduated from Stanford in 1977. She was the first black woman to travel to space and served as a mission specialist on the Space Shuttle Endeavour. A few facts about Stanford is that they were established in 1885 and opened in 1891.
