The University of Pennsylvania known as UPenn is an ivy league university located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. You must have at least a 3.8 GPA and the acceptance rate is about 5.9%. The yearly tuition is about $63,450. Some popular majors among students are finance, general, registered nursing/registered nurse, econometrics and quantitative Economics, philosophy, and biology/biological sciences. Upenn is known for its highly ranked programs such as Wharton School, School of Education, School of Engineering and Applied Science, Law School and School of Medicine.

Some notable alumni from UPenn are Donald Trump, John Legend, Elizabeth Banks, Sundar Pichai, Alice Paul, William Henry Harrison, and Elon Musk. Donald Trump was the 45th U.S President from 2017 through 2021 and John Legend is a singer, songwriter, and pianist. Elizabeth Banks is an American actress and filmmaker most commonly known as “Effie” from The Hunger Games movies. Sundar Pichai is known as the CEO of Google and Alice Paul was an activist for women’s rights for women’s suffrage. William Henry Harrison was the 9th U.S President elected in 1841. Tragically, Harrison passed away 31 days after his election, making his presidency the shortest in U.S history. Elon Musk attended Queen’s University before transferring to UPenn where he got his Bachelor of Arts in physics, and a Bachelor of Science degree in economics. The University of Pennsylvania is one of the 9 colonial colleges established before the Declaration of Independence. These include Harvard, William and Mary, Yale, Princeton, King’s or Columbia, the University of Pennsylvania, Brown, Dartmouth, and Queen’s or Rutgers. It was founded in 1740 by Benjamin Franklin who believed that youth education was vital.
